On the 25th, the Women's Federation of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region held the "Gathering Her Strength Together towards the Future" exchange event marking the eighth anniversary of Lancang-Mekong cooperation in Nanning.

Nearly 100 officials in women's affairs, student representatives, and business delegates from China, Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, and other Lancang-Mekong countries, as well as international students participating in the social practice program of the China Women's College, gathered to strengthen friendship and seek cooperative development.

Ms. Hu Jingbo, Chairperson of the Women's Federation of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, stated in her address that since its inception in Guangxi in 2006, the China-ASEAN Women's Forum has successfully convened eight sessions, providing a comprehensive platform for women's exchanges, economic cooperation, and people-to-people exchanges between China and ASEAN countries. Leveraging the China-ASEAN Women's Training Center, the Guangxi Women's Federation has provided various training programs on poverty alleviation and development to women from Mekong River countries. Practical cooperation has been established with the Women's Federations of Mekong River countries in agriculture, border trade, HIV/AIDS prevention, combating trafficking in women and children, thus forming a Lancang-Mekong women's cooperation model of "information sharing, resource sharing, and experience exchange," nurturing a bond of "connected hearts, compatible sentiments, and shared aspirations" among Lancang-Mekong women.

MsHu Jingbo expressed that the aim of this event is to enhance mutual trust and communication among women from Lancang-Mekong countries. The Guangxi Women's Federation will strengthen friendly exchanges with women from Mekong River countries and promote the transformation of cooperation achievements in entrepreneurship, innovation, and cultural exchanges among the six Lancang-Mekong countries.

On March 25th, the Guangxi Women's Federation signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Women's Federations of Vietnam’s Cao Bang, Quang Ninh, Lang Son and Ha Giang provinces. The photo shows representatives of the signing parties. (Photo by Huang Yongzhuang)
