According to the annual work arrangement and the comprehensive site visit results, the LMLECC recently held a meeting to discuss the prominent crime of “cross-border human  trafficking” in the basin and coordinate the joint operation of “enhance border control to combat cross-border human trafficking”. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Secretary-General Jiang Shui. 

Participants fromJoint Operation Coordination, Case Investigation Support and Capacity Building joined the discussion.

During the meeting, the Joint Operation Coordination Directorate introduced theoperation plan (draft), and the participants gave practical advice on the legal basis for combating cross-border human trafficking in the basin, the promotion,management,crack down and victim relief during the operation, the usage the LMIN information system for exchange and sharing and law enforcement capacity building, etc.

In the next step, the LMLECC is going to hold a seminar on combating cross-border human trafficking among member states to coordinate a joint operation.
