Acting Secretary-General You Xiaowen Leads Delegation on Visit to Myanmar

From October 31 to November 2, Acting Secretary-General You Xiaowen led a working team to Myanmar. The team briefed the Myanmar officials the recent key work of LMLECC, inquired about the security and crime situation in Myanmar,and received  demands and suggestions to the LMLECC. During the trip, the  team visited Yangon Regional Police  and Myanmar Police Headquarters.


At Yangon Regional Police, the  team had an exchange with Brigadier General Myo Min Htike. Myo Min Htike briefed the team on relevant information about Yangon Regional  Policethe public security and crime situation in the province, and expressed his gratitude to the LMLECC for the aid of constructing Yangon Police Command Center. He pointed out that the physical operation of the Command Center provided a strong guarantee for maintaining social security, safeguarding people's lives and property, and cracking down various illegal and criminal activities. He expressed his hope to further strengthen cooperation and exchanges with the LMLECC. After the meeting, Myo Min Htike accompanied the  team to inspect Yangon Police Command Center.


In Nay Pyi Taw, the team had a meeting with Major General Aung Naing Thu, Deputy Director-General of the Myanmar Police , and officials from the Marine Police, Anti Cross-Border Crime, Criminal Investigation, Intelligence Department, etc. Aung Naing Thu congratulated You Xiaowen   on serving as Acting Secretary-General, welcomed the team to visit Myanmar, and briefed the team on  domestic social security and crime situation. He also expressed his gratitude to the LMLECC for equipping law enforcement boats to the Marine Police Bureau and the aid of building Yangon Police Command Center. He said that Myanmar police force will continue to participate in and support the work of the LMLECC, enhance the level and capabilities of Lancang-Mekong law enforcement cooperation, and jointly maintain regional security and stability.
