On November 24, the 135th China-Laos-Myanmar-Thailand law enforcement joint patrol on the Mekong River was successfully concluded. Deputy Secretary-General Mr. Davuth LY led the team with 6 international staff to participate in the joint patrol.

With a total voyage of more than 600 kilometers, the operation lasted four days adopting the segmented and joint patrols along the river. Seven law enforcement boats separately from China, Laos, Myanmar and Thailand participated the operation, and the commanders of the four parties jointly commanded the operation at the command post of the 53107 boat of China.     

During the operation, the team from the center viewed the "Look-out-for-one-another-2023" Joint River Search and Rescue Drill by China, Laos, Myanmar and Thailand held in Ban Mom, Laos. The drill was divided into different drill subjects, including "rescue of people who fell into the water", "boat fire extinguishing", "boat leakage plugging", "underwater detection and salvage", "ship oil spill disposal" and "ship towing", etc. It fully demonstrated the rapid response and collaborative handling capabilities of the law enforcement agencies of China, Laos, Myanmar and Thailand in responding to and dealing with emergencies on the river and maintaining the safety of merchant ships and people's lives and property in the region.

This joint patrol was also the first time that Cambodian staff of the center had participated in the law enforcement joint patrol on the Mekong River, during which they learned about the ability of the law enforcement agencies of China, Laos, Myanmar and Thailand to respond to and deal with emergencies on the Mekong River, and deeply experienced the determination and concerted efforts of the Lancang-Mekong Regional Law Enforcement Agencies to safeguard the security and stability in the region.
