From Aug. 20th  to 24th , 2018, the Lancang-Mekong Integrated Law Enforcement and Security Cooperation Center sent personnel to participate in the 73rd joint patrol of China, Laos, Myanmar and Thailand.

The joint patrol and law enforcement operation was conducted by means of a combination of segmented cruising and full-line cruising  along the Lancang-Mekong River from Guanlei Harbor of China to the "Golden Triangle" waters of the Mekong River at the border of China, Laos, Myanmar and Thailand.

During the joint patrol, the four countries of China, Laos, Myanmar and Thailand , dispatched commanders to the Chinese law enforcement command boats to co-command and dispatch the duties. The law enforcement agencies of the four countries jointly carried out anti-drug propaganda, exchange of security situation in the Mekong River Basin, and further intensified the prevention and combat of drug crimes, gun trafficking, smuggling and stowaway, etc.

At the same time, the joint cruise formation was also actively engaged in joint search and rescue preparations for emergencies such as the recent increase in rainfall in the Lancang-Mekong River basin, the frequent accidents such as ships hitting reefs, grounding and sinking, etc. Fully maintain the the safety of navigation in the Mekong River Basin.
