On December 13, 2018, local time, in the Lao National Defense Ministry meeting room, the Lao Political Bureau of the Central 

Committee of the Laos，the Minister of National Defense，Chansamone CHANYALATH took over the ceremony of the promotion

of the rank of admiral.Phankham Viphavanh，member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Lao People's

Revolutionary Party, executive secretary of the Central Secretariat, and Vice-President of the State, awarded the rank of 

general to comrade Chansamone of the general. Minister Chansamone is the third admiral in the history of Laos.
