Recently, Zheng Baigang Secretary General of center, led a delegation to visit the Secretariat of the ASEANAPOL, and held working talks with Police colonel Kenechanh Phommachack Executive Director.

      Kenechanh first introduced the establishment background, governance system, work functions, database construction and foreign cooperation of the organization. Secretary General Zheng Baigang also briefed the background, structure, functions and work of LMLECC.

      Kenechanh highly appreciates the efforts and wisdom of LMLECC for multilateral cooperation in river basins, and is willing to further strengthen experience exchange and interaction with LMLECC，especially to strive for greater cooperation space in capacity-building. In addition, both sides also discussed ways to deepen cooperation.

       The ASEANAPOL originated from the Meeting of The Chiefs of ASEAN Police in 1981 ,Which Attended by 5 original member countries. (Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand). In 2010, all the police departments of the ten ASEAN countries joined in. In the same year, the Secretariat of the organization began its substantive operation, with its headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The purpose is to coordinate and communicate the efforts of Member States to fight crime, strengthen the sharing of intelligence and information, and promote the implementation of the consensus reached by the ASEANAPOL CONFERENCE (the conference is held by Member States in turn each year).
