On July 2, Myanmmar Minister of Interior Kaye Swe paid a visit to LMLECC and had meeting with SG Zheng Baigang.

SG Zheng Baigang welcomed minister Kaye Swe and his delegation, thanked Myanmar for its positive contributions to the construction of LMLECC and introduced the operational conditions, tasks and development plans of LMLECC. He says LMLECC is a multi-lateral cooperation platform for basin countries. It is dedicated to law enforcement agencies of each member states. It is keen on providing quality and efficient service. LMLECC welcome Myanmar make good use of this multilateral platform, and c deepen pragmatic cooperation on combating crimes of basin.

The minister spoke highly of the positive role played by the establishment of LMLECC not only in the field of law enforcement and security cooperation, but also in the economic and social development of the river basin. He also said that Myanmar would further improve its communication mechanism with LMLECC, strengthen exchanges of intelligence and information, and make every effort to maintain stability of the border of the Lancang-Mekong river basin so as to better benefit people of all countries.

DSG Amphan, DSG Parasat, and DSG Jiang shui attended the meeting. After the meeting, minister Kaye Swe visited the LMLECC office building and greeted stationed staff member of member countries.
