On April 21, 2024, Brigadier General Somphone Mittaphone, Deputy Director of the General Staff Department of the Ministry of National Defense of the Lao PDR，led a delegation to visit LMLECC.  Mr. You Xiaowen, Acting Secretary-General, and others engaged in friendly discussions and exchanges with the delegation.

Brigadier General Somphone spoke highly of achievements made by LMLECC in the seven years since its establishment, and expressed his gratitude to LMLECC for its support and assistance to Lao. He hoped that both parties would continue to cooperate closely in jointly responding to complex transnational crime situation in the region, and contribute to regional peace, stability and make greater contributions to people's happiness.

ASG Mr. You Xiaowen and others introduced the overview of LMLECC, and emphasized that LMLECC has received strong support from the Lao MOD since its establishment. LMLECC pledges continuous support for the construction of Laos MOD, which will focus on their work priorities to provide support and services, and jointly promote the construction of the Lancang-Mekong Community of Shared Future to benefit the people of the region.
